Magnesium Chloride
Magnesium chloride, with the chemical formula MgCl₂, is a type of halide-based anti-freeze and de-icer. It offers excellent long-term anti-freeze performance and exhibits lower corrosiveness to road surfaces and vehicle components compared to calcium chloride. Due to its moderate hygroscopicity, it can effectively melt snow over extended periods, making it ideal for winter road de-icing on highways and city roads. In industrial applications, it is also used as a dust suppressant, concrete admixture, and coolant treatment agent. Our company supplies both granular and flake-form products, which are widely used as raw materials in composite de-icing salts.

Magnesium Chloride Application
■ Exceptional low-temperature performance: Even in extremely cold regions where temperatures drop below the melting point of sodium chloride (up to approximately -30°C), it rapidly melts ice and snow, ensuring reliable road safety.
■ Environmentally friendly and dust-reducing effect: It causes relatively little salt damage to soil and plants, and possesses excellent moisture retention properties, making it highly effective for dust and sand control on unpaved roads and grounds.
■ Applications: Snow melting on highways and general roads in cold areas, prevention of freezing at railway switches (points), and dust management on tennis courts and sports fields.
* The eutectic point of magnesium chloride is around -33°C, making it an ideal anti-freeze agent for harsh cold environments where sodium chloride cannot perform effectively.
